What is a slot? Why is the schedule subject to slots?

Air slots are takeoff and landing time windows that can be booked on a first come first served basis. In order to operate, an aircraft needs a departure, en route and arrival slot.

Some airports are more congested than others. Large international airports (Helsinki, Stockholm, Frankfurt to name a few) and smaller airports that are very congested (Split, Innsbruck etc) require airlines to book arrival and departure times. This is done in order to ensure sufficient physical space for all flights to operate.

Once your agreement is signed and received, we will apply for the slots. Usually the slots are granted. Sometimes it is necessary to slightly adjust the timing to ensure that the slots are granted. In this case we will discuss with the client of course before confirming flights.
